(bwahahahaha.)

blick.sg introduces a brand new concept into online shopping! the idea is similar to an auction website, except that blick.sg sources its products from well known brands and names such as Apple, other electronic big names like Sony, Canon & Nikon, and even established ladies brands such as Zara, Topshop and even Miu Miu!

i know right, my eyes totally lit up when i saw those last three brands!!!

i went onto blick.sg to check it out, and saw some ridiculously incredibly low bids that members have won products at!!! so low it's too good to be true!!!

now i wish i knew about blick.sg earlier wtf.

A NINTENDO 3DS FOR ONLY $56.95!!!!! SIAO OR NOT YOU TELL ME.

OR A KATE SPADE WALLET FOR $2.25 OMG ultimate!!!!!

some of you might be curious how the entire system works,

and it's actually really easy! all you need to do is register for an account, buy some Blick Credits, and start bidding away!

some other points of interest about blick.sg:

*delivery is absolutely free of charge! NO hidden costs, and definitely very safe & reliable!

*blick.sg is iPhone & iPad compatible so you can even bid on the go :D

how do you like this picture!!

took abit of skill and effort (multiple shots on tripod, and composing all the different shots into one with the help of Photoshop) but i think it looks pretty cool!! since i only had one model photoshooting that day, this was the best i could come up with to show off different looks/styles in one picture. LOL.

and here's more pictures to share: i actually wore the convertible dress from the first batch (in White!) cos i was my cousin's bridesmaid earlier this year! worn in my favorite toga style ;)

only realised later on that most brides don't want their bridesmaids to wear white cos it'd kinda steal the limelight from the beautiful bride herself! :X so instead of White, we chose this really pretty shade of Nude for this batch!

it's perfect for the day time, for gate-crashing/wedding lunches, cos the color is so light and pretty!

Purple is more grandiose and very elegant looking! for those going for a more glamorous look!

Bronze is definitely the most versatile.. it'll bring you from day to night with its understated classiness!

and of course, the lovely Peach Pink for the sweet and feminine!

probably launching on Thursday night, 8PM! do look out for the mailer, cos Livejournal is so screwy we might be launching on Wordpress instead! by the way, we're giving out free face/eye masks in this collection to the first 25 customers (one mask per dress haha) to make payment!!! :D :D :D also, there is free registered shipping for bulk orders of 3 pieces and above, especially for the ladies intending to get this as a bridesmaid dress! :) more photos/color swatches/measurements will only be up during the launch!

***

and here's a few more pictures of some upcoming items to whet your appetite!!! :P

the sell-out Lampshade Skirt is back for color block season!! teehee. check out all our aweesomeeee colors!! we saw that Zara came up with a color block version (the grey/dark grey as seen on me) so we couldn't resist :P

and i mad love this color combi too! Red x Purple! damn fab looking!

oh which reminds me, extras from BO for the Lampshade Skirt in Almond/Grey (only available in limited sizes/qty!) will be released next week for those of you who still prefer the original Lampshade Skirts! ;) i love both versions and i think they're all mad pretty!! if you haven't owned a piece, you ought to!!!

Fruity Pebbles Top that's coming up soon too! available in 3 colors on TVD! ;) i love the contrast collar!

and i posted a picture of my OTD and was swarmed with comments & formspring questions!
the blazer is from Zara and the pants are upcoming on TVD!! mad love the cutting of the pants so much cos they are super super flattering! i'm keeping every single color cos it's so hard for me to find a good pair of pants due to my big hips, i usually look terrible in pants!! this pair is extreme love! really wanted to manufacture the blazer, but i'm worried that blazer season is over already :P yay or nay?

comes in Black, Kelly Green, Lego Blue and Red! that's Vera in Blue and me in the Kelly Green. Vera/Mega kept every color for themselves too. bwahaha.

i went for my 1st Cardio Pilates class today with my office chumps at Pilates Bodyworks and i swear i wanted to die! it was really a major workout and we were all deadbeat by the end of it!! in a good way, cos now i'm aching and pain-ing all over, from muscles i never even knew i had! D: D: D: and we've signed up for the next 3 months of torture already! :P hopefully it helps to tone up my flabs and increase my fitness level, i am about as unfit as a doormat right now. gonna be a lean mean fighting machine in 3 months time!! bwahahahahahahaha. since i'ved signed up and paid up, i have no excuses anymore. woohoo! onwards with jian fei-ing!!!

i've been a really good girl lately and trying to quit taking so many cabs. so it's the bus for me whenever possible! SBS Iris app is my new best friend. save money and go green! take public transport!!! (taxis excluded)

behind the scenes...

remember TVD back in the early days?
we used to do our outdoor photoshoots at home, with my lovely pond (& refrigerator sometimes) as the background!

lol.
omg.. this was back in Feb 2010, TVD's 1st collection! back then JY & I were modelling for TVD and it was excruciating for us to model cos we had to wake up real early on weekend mornings and it was usually super humid and hot.. we were always sweating like pigs D: not to mention the editing afterwards (too flabby... need to photoshop alot of flabs away) haha you can read about some of those experiences here and here!!

eventually we moved on to studio shoots (and better models!!!), and haven't looked back since then! D: studio pictures look a lot more professional than those outdoor shoots we did at the beginning, and also showcased the apparel much better due to the clean background and consistent lighting.

anyway..
one year forward, and we're now at Series 69 already, and have our own humble office space and studio with awesome co-blogshop owners that we've become so close with, a fantastic helper who's also my good friend (and is ever so organised and patient with packing parcels and replying emails daily) we have lovely models who look absolutely gorgeous in our apparel, and we have supportive and super appreciative customers and friends who's watched TVD grow in the span of this almost one and a half years! :)))

hehe. suddenly sound so reminiscent.

so i thought it's time we did something different again, and last Sat morning we had a proper-to-goodness (sort of..) outdoor shoot again!!! not outside my house next to the fish pond, thankfully! bwahaha. remember the Drape Convertible Dress we launched last year? we restocked the dress in 2 of the original colors, and also did it in 2 new colors, and i thought it'd be really nice to have an outdoor shoot for it, to give a different feel to how the dress looks styled and worn in real life!

this time round, we had Britney, our helpful make-up and hair artist, myself as the photographer, Woon the awesome as the back-up photographer, and Cher as the model!

well, the 1st lesson i learnt is,
always start early, cos most likely someone is gonna be late. LOL.
thing with outdoor shoots is that you have to get the lighting while its good, if not the pictures won't turn out nicely! :( i was also checking the weather forecast days in advance, cos i was so worried it'd rain and we wouldn't be able to shoot outdoors anymore! thank God, the weather was reaaaally sunny in the end!

we were supposed to start at 8AM, but after all the make-up and etc, it was about 10AM when we embarked on the photoshoot excursion! haha.
check out Britney's 88 color palette! cooooool. i wanna get one for myself too!

here's pre-makeup Cher. look like ghost right. HAHAHA just kidding ah don't kill me :P

final touches of lip gloss...

ta daaah! the three girls who endured the heat and sun with me!

very glam, sitting on toilet bowl while Britney did her hair..

all the barang barang we had to bring! just to shoot one dress D: 4 pairs of shoes, different hair accessories, necklaces, bracelets etc... a reflector to try to get the lighting better, and water is definitely a must cos you don't wanna dehydrate under the hot sun!

we got lots of stares from alot of ppl. guess we looked kinda weird huh. haha!

Britney styled Cher's hair differently for every outfit! this Cher very good at pouting i realise. i have like so many pictures of her pouting! hahaha!

and the purpose of having a backup photographer.. i had Woon bring all her film cameras cos i wanted to have two sets of pictures! one set taken by me with the DSLR which focused more on the outfits, while Woon snapped candids and more arty pictures which didn't necessarily show the apparel, but captured the entire feel/scene.

i wasn't disappointed at all, cos Woon took some REAAALLLY gorgeous shots with her film cameras! and you know how film cameras have this old school look which is really different from pictures taken by a DSLR.. the colors are so beautiful!

the below pictures are from Woon's cameras!

Britney helped to constantly touch up the make-up, and also hold the reflector when needed! heh. thanks for being such a great help!

hair is always a problem when shooting outdoors cos everyone's getting all sweaty and sticky.. :(

so we had to use a tripod and stand in the middle of the alley for some of the shots, and cars just kept on going by -_- and it was so so so so hot! swear i grew 2 shades darker. we had a styrofoam board so it was our makeshift umbrella lol! it was so funny, half way through the shoot, a random worker from one of the shops we were shooting behind (back alley) came to offer us an umbrella. LOL.

Cher looks like a cartoon duck here! HAHAHA. so cute!!

well, we had a hot two hours shooting under the sun, but it was reaaallly fun too!! now i know why Joyce is so addicted to doing outdoor shoots. haha! it was pretty hard for me cos i've never shot outdoors before, plus i'm not really a photographer, so i didn't know which angles to catch and how to have the model posing (it was Cher's first time too!).. definitely not easy. i'm so getting a professional photographer next time, instead of DIY-ing! :(

honestly, i'm really a noob (with a lousy camera) at being a photographer. i don't know anything abt the camera settings and how to shoot outdoor photos/lighting and all that jazz. we were just kinda floundering our way throught the shoot! it was really an experience though!! hahaha!

some of the Fuji Instax we took!

and i did a little collage with the photos from Woon's cameras. love the pictures, really!!!

back to the drape convertible dress,
we've sold quite a few already to ladies for their bridesmaids dresses, and we also made it in sizes this time cos previously it was only in one size. it's now available in Peach Pink, Bronze, Royal Purple & Nude.
i'll put up more pictures/previews soon!!!

the travelogues: Krakow, Poland (day 1)

hello! heehee.
havent blogged much for the past few days, been busy with work!
dunno if anyone missed the updates on this space, bwahaha. *thick skinned much*

anyway, my aim is to finish blogging abt Poland by the end of August! sounds do-able if i get around to blogging at least one entry per week :P really don't wanna miss out on penning down any of the really amazing experiences we had there!

we extended our trip, after the competition was over, and travelled in our circus of 7 people, haha :D first time travelling with this bunch of people, and we had so much fun! all these once-in-a-lifetime experiences.. i'm not very good with expressing it in words, but i'll just photo blog as usual ;)

our first leg of the trip was Krakow, where we booked an apartment for our 4-day stay in the city! so a long train ride from the Warsaw airport to Krakow, and we arrived in Krakow in the evening, so all we did was to spend (a lot of effort and time) the evening locating our apartment, and going out for a nice dinner to relax and chill before we went back to rest so we had energy for the next few days of exploration!

had to collect our keys to the apartment and also make payment at the main office.

and made our way to apartment! located in the Old Town area of Krakow, which is the most touristy area and really convenientttt.

random shots on way to apartment!

the grandest church in Krakow, St Mary's Basilica :)
so we found the building our apartment was located in..... but we simply couldn't figure out which floor it was on.... -___- the key refused to unlock the door so we thought we might be on the wrong floor??!

NOTE to anyone travelling to Poland (or parts of Europe): level 1 is normally known as Ground Floor, or level 0, so level 1 is our level 2, so on and so forth...

we happily thought our apartment was on level 2 (yayyy easy luggage lugging!!!) but in the end...

"Walao eh! are we there yet???" *pant & huff & puff* "Is it the right unit or not???""

we finally found the right unit, and i think it was on the 4th floor or something??? thankfully, we had our two boys (the youngest in the group but kena bullied by us to become slave labour hahaha) to help with all the heavy luggages! no easy feat to hoist all of them up the many flights of stairs..

regardless, we were too tired to be anything less than overjoyed. and the apartment was so spacious and comfortable!!

checking out the facilities.

our initially spick & span bedroom that eventually turned into the Room Of Shame (and Mess)

the sun was setting just as we reached the apartment. heh. everyone whipped out their cameras, cos we had a really fantastic view of the town from our apartment window!

so pretty!

night was falling..

we already had plans to dine at a fancy restaurant, and guess what, there was a Michelin restaurant right downstairs our apartment! so we all freshened ourselves up and dressed up prettily just to go downstairs for our dinner... LOL :P

the ladies...

and the men! :)
HAHAHA.
now it's just gonna be pictures of the food!!!

anyway, food in Poland is awesome. i had a hard time controlling myself from eating too much cos the portions are so huge and everything's so tasty!

zurek soup which is the best soup on earth :3

our starter! salmon carpaccio which was really excellent.

wine there is so cheap!

my goose meat with golden pears (those are pears not cherries!!) and some kind of beetroot and jam.. i love how their meats are so savoury with cooked fruits and jam! it was really delish and the texture was so soft and melt-in-your-mouth... now i'm hungry again ._.

some beef tenderloin, Marissa's i think! soooo yummehhhhh.

we all ordered different dishes and shared around, everything was so good! definitely lived up to its name as a Michelin restaurant.
didn't manage to take alot of pics cos the lighting inside was too cozy and dim!

we shared three desserts to end off the delicious meal :D
warm cheese cake (OMGGGGG.... i don't even like cheese and i loved this)
chocolate cake (super dense and rich!!)

warm apple pie with ice cream. the best combination in the world (only sticky date toffee pudding with ice cream wins)
ending off with a random pic of the decor. hahahahaha.
after that, we went back "home" upstairs and talked til daylight the next morning. so fun!

sorry i'm so random.
i need to warm up to the travel blogging!  we spent another 3 days in Krakow with some day trips out of town, and i have lots more to blog about! :D :D :D i love travelling. it feels so surreal to wake up in a foreign land, outside of a hectic schedule, with nothing to look forward to except eating good food and exploring strange sights! :) :) :)
