Happiness is a Gift: Merry Christmas Lancôme!

I can't believe how quickly the year is passing, it's just another two months before it's my favourite time of the year: Christmas!!

My favourite part of Christmas has got to be the happy and festive mood all around, lots of meet-ups and gatherings and dinners with all of my closest friends! And my favourite section of the store: The beautiful fragrance section that has constellations of crystals hanging down from a grand chandelier.

These little objects are actually caps in which the fragrances are enclosed in. Isn't the whole set-up just beautiful?

A hidden door in a corner of La Maison Lancôme opens up to a secret cabin where I was led to for my Advanced Génifique Youth Activating facial treatment!

My facial session was incredible! 

I dozed off into a comfortable nap whilst the well-trained beauty therapists used fusion massage techniques expertly not just on my face, but also on my limbs and body.. The expert touch of the therapist was so soothing and comfortable that it didn't take more than a few minutes for me to fully relax and fall asleep! Soothing music and the dim, ambient mood lighting really helped me unwind and fully immerse myself in the entire multi-sensorial experience.

All of my favourite products from the Advanced Genifique and Visionnaire ranges were used during the facial, and I was gently roused after the 90-minute long session to that feeling of remarkable well-being, and velvety soft skin!

I felt like I didn't even need much makeup because of the amazing post-facial glow! Not just my skin, even my tired body and soul felt rejuvenated and rested from the session.

Christmas Brunch at Kith Cafe, Quayside Isle!

I'm here to catch up on backlogged entries! Be warned: massive food porn spam ahead in this entry!

So on Christmas Day, I dragged YZ, Evonne, Trish and their respective partners out at 8.30am for brunch! I was pretty sure that everyone would be sleeping in late on Christmas, so I thought it was the perfect excuse to get everyone up early to enjoy a serene and peaceful Christmas brunch together.

Before YZ woke up, I planted a surprise Christmas present for him :P

He's been carrying around the most chui looking bag for the past half a year or something, and I thought he needed a smart-looking new bag for work, so I got him a bag from Porter International! Good quality, affordable pricing, and they have very sleek and nice designs too. YZ loved the bag! :D Mission accomplished: kept the man happy so that he wouldn't be grumpy about me waking him up at 7.30am on Christmas morning hehehe :P

As I predicted, it was so quiet on Christmas morning that the roads were practically empty! We zoomed all the way to Sentosa at record speed and reached there in like 20 minutes. Perfect! Evonne and Trish also arrived shortly, and we got ourselves settled down at Kith Cafe, Quayside Isle for our brunch.

Despite being 8.30am on Christmas morning, the cafe was already busy with the early bird customers. Impressive!

I did regret a little for being so kiasu and arranging such an early meeting time, because the lunch menu is only available at 11am, so we were limited to the breakfast/brunch menu and missed stuff like the truffle fries, pastas, and etc.

Both were chocolatey and rich, very comforting to sip on first thing in the morning. The two chocolate lovers gave their thumbs up!

We ordered so much food because everyone was really hungry D:

The breakfast menu at Kith is very customisable, because almost everything is available as a side, so Evonne and Trish customised their own breakfast plates! Quite a good idea because you can pick exactly what you want to eat.

Pork Belly Fried Eggs

Verdict on the food? Almost everything was really really good!

Special mention goes to the pork belly fried eggs and bratwurst sausage: they was sooo tasty we had to order another plate with the sausage on the side! The sausage was just incredibly juicy and tasty. And that pork belly.. It was marinated in soy sauce and was super delicious! I loved it! The generous serving of pork belly went exceedingly well with the ciabatta bread and sunny side ups.

The bread served with everything was great too, not dry and hard, but was crisp and fluffy. Usually, I tend to ignore the bread on my plate, but Kith's bread complemented their dishes so well!

The eggs were all quite done well, except for the Over Easy eggs which were too cooked. My first place of Blackstone eggs came with overcooked poached eggs too, but we requested for a replacement and the second plate was perfect. The bacon that accompanied my poached eggs was done really well, it was soft and flavorful unlike the honey baked ham which was too dry and hard.

When I go back for a repeat visit, the Pork Belly Fried Eggs and Blackstone Eggs would definitely be on the order list again, along with the bratwurst sausage!

Prices are reasonable, with most breakfast items ranging from $17-$20 ish. I don't think we paid more than $30 per pax, very very affordable for six happy and filled tummies!

So happy to have had enjoyed such an awesome and serene Christmas morning with the best company! Great food, lovely sea-side view and wonderful ambience. It's so nice to have my good friends, their partners and mine all at the same table, chatting away whilst enjoying yummy food!
Feels so homely and family-like :) We didn't exchange Christmas presents or anything like that, but the time spent at brunch alone made my Christmas day fabulous! Love y'all.

Despite Kith at Quayside Isle being so far away, I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

The lovely maxi dress I wore is from TheVelvetDolls, and it's all sold out in blue already, but there are other colours available! We've been releasing new items very regularly for CNY and I'm so psyched for all the up and coming gorgeous clothes! Been working hard since I came back from Hong Kong, but I promise to blog more soon, including travel entries :) Can't wait!

I hope that everyone is having a good start to the year so far, I am definitely thankful for a wonderful two weeks of 2014 so far! Less than three weeks to CNY wheeee!

The Nail Artelier: Christmas Nail Art!

It sure is feeling Christmassy already.. Christmas is only two days away! *jumps about*

Can't help but get suckered into all the happy Christmas songs and festive mood, even though like I mentioned before, I don't actually celebrate Christmas with my family/YZ, it's the best kind of reason to meet up with all my various gangs and make merry ;) And of course, eat away! :X

Another great thing about Christmas is the excuse to doll up in the name of Christmas, and nothing could be cuter than Christmas-themed nails! I was so excited to book my Christmas nail appointment with Jenrine at The Nail Artelier :D :D :D I heard that they're almost all fully booked all the way til after Christmas already, so if you wanna try your luck, do call in to make an appointment!

I wasn't disappointed at all, I left The Nail Artelier so extremely pleased with my gorgeous new Christmas nails!

I told Jenrine I wanted a gradient base, and snowflakes and reindeer nail art! To make it more interesting, I had different designs done for all four accent nails.. :D

Mr Reindeer on one of my thumbs looking super cute and adding a happy dash of red to the classy blue and white palette!

One ring finger had a snow globe that's handmade painstakingly with layers and layers of gel, while I had a super big and bling silver snowflake embellishment on the other ring finger. Super chio max! *.*

To go with my manicure, I also got my toenails done, along with a pampering foot spa session, when my feet/calves were gently scrubbed, massaged, and moisturised! Shouldn't be neglecting my feet and toenails too, right? ;)

Merry Christmas at TripleOne Somerset!

Hellooo folks! It's that time of the year again! *inserts snowflake, jingle bells, christmas tree and snowman emoticons* 

I almost can't believe how fast another year is coming to an end.. But that also means that my favourite festive season, Christmas, is just around the corner! :) 

So in this post, I'm gonna share with you one of the best kept "secrets" in town.. and I guess it's not gonna be so secret anymore, now that I'm blogging about it! :S

This little secret is none other than.. TripleOne Somerset!

TripleOne Somerset is a retail destination that's located in a serene and peaceful corner of Somerset.. Just less than a minute's walk away from Somerset MRT station!

I have to say, they probably have the FINEST supermarket in town! Which is NTUC Finest. (Pun unintended.) The NTUC Finest at TripleOne Somerset is huuuge and has lots and lots of fresh produce and variety! :D I love getting my grocery shopping done at TripleOne Somerset when I'm in town!

But I digress.

TripleOne Somerset doesn't just have a fabulous supermarket, but it also houses a selective mix of lifestyle and retail, food and service outlets, handpicked with discerning taste for the refined, cosmopolitan customer.

(Had lunch at Fukuichi Japanese restaurant at TripleOne Somerset and I was so impressed! It's a hidden gem! Will blog more about that in a separate entry!)

This Christmas, there are lots of special things in-store for everyone, at TripleOne Somerset!

The festive theme at TripleOne Somerset this year is "A Christmas Fable", and revolves around a whimsical and adorable short Christmas tale, with the cutest characters!

Once you get in sight of the mall, you'd see that the walkway outside the Mall has been transformed into a beautiful open-air "story book", with huge storybook pages that are perfect for a photo op!

Here's the huge storybook pages.. The kids are gonna love it! :D

In fact, I spotted some families taking lots of photos with these lovely illustrated story pages when I was there last Saturday. Super sweet! You ought to read all the pages too, to find out what the story is about! *Not gonna give away any spoilers here*

One of the places you need to visit this Christmas to get your christmas shopping done, is The Christmas Market, at TripleOne Somerset, Level 16!

Every weekend from 23 November to 15 December, 1pm - 7pm, you'd be able to find a bustling marketplace of activity going on at Level 16 of TripleOne Somerset, in partnership with well-known creative market organiser Public Garden!

I'd once visited a creative market that was organised by Public Garden a couple months ago, and I really loved the eclectic crowd and unique stalls there! At The Christmas Market at TripleOne Somerset, it is no different, except you'd really really appreciate the fact that the space is air-conditioned! :P

Yes, you'd get to shop in air-conditioned comfort! Isn't that fantastic?

I had so much fun shopping at The Christmas Market, that I spent well over two hours in there, trying to decide what to buy! If you're short on ideas this year for Christmas shopping, you really have to make a trip down to The Christmas Market. With all the unique stalls that are selling hand-crafted toys, home-baked treats, vintage apparels and specially curated goods from exotic places, there's definitely gonna be something special for everyone!

The best part is talking to each and every vendor/store-owner, who are full of enthusiasm about their craft and goods, and extremely passionate about what they love! :)

It was a joy to explore and shop at The Christmas Market!

I chanced into wonderful wedding store, MerryLove at The Christmas Market as well, teehee. They have the most beautiful rustic-looking decorations for all occasions! I love their honeycombs and pom pom balls!

There was so much to look at and to buy, that I was honestly spoilt for choice!

I found a ton of russian doll merchandise too, ehehe. Wanted to buy them all, but I stopped myself from emptying out my wallet :X

Everything from baby clothes, to savoury pies, and hand-crafted trinkets/acessories...

Terraniums, anyone? Or a hand-painted diary/calendar for 2014! For the crafty-fingered, some stores were selling washi tape too! 

Let's not forget the gourmet bakes and sweets! The red velvet cake and salted caramel looked really really good.

I loved the stall that sold old school trinkets, with all our favourite childhood snacks remade into miniature look-a-like brooches, necklaces, or printed on tote bags and notebooks!

I was especially taken with Mr Snowman from L Cube, who was made from a sock. So cute!

Found a store that sold some mens' shirts, and did a spot of shopping for YZ! Also, check out these illustrated Christmas cards. So much more unique than getting store-bought Christmas cards!

One of my favourite stalls at The Christmas Market, that sold modern remakes of vintage enamel cups and wares, with quirky illustrations on them, by local and Asian artists! So much win, and what a great way to pay homage to both our heritage and Asian art!

I spent a particularly long time at Naked Glory's stall too, which sold a lovely selection of vintage time pieces, some hand-customised and others especially sourced! They also had gorgeous accessories on sale.

The very last stop I made at The Christmas Market after I was satisfied with my shopping: Cookies For Sid! Where I bought some really yummy cookies, and even got a "Cookie-wich", cookies sandwiched with ice cream. What a treat! :D

I was so tired by the time I was done shopping at The Christmas Market, lol. And I left with bags full of purchases! :D

Of course, with all the Christmas shopping done, you need to get your gifts wrapped too, right? :D Just spend a minimum of $60, to get your purchases wrapped for free at TripleOne Somerset's gift-wrapping booth, or even take home the adorable themed wrapping papers and gift tags home to do your own gift-wrapping!

Bought some cookies home for my family.. :D I loved the white chocolate chip and macadamia's!

A pair of beautifully crafted origami crane earrings for Farah, I think she'd love these because they're made of origami and they're purple! :D 

I bought this shirt from JohnnyLucy for YZ! Thought that the colour was really unique and bright. YZ loves it :)

This Casio watch from NakedGlory is for myself hehe. Classic, simple, and extremely durable. I have a Casio watch that's 7 years old and still in great condition!

THIS MUG. I had to get it! It has "How To Make Milo Dinosaur" illustrations on it! So so so so so so quirky and unique!

I spotted this hand-made rubber stamp in a snowflake motif and I knew it was meant for Trish, who loves snowflakes! :D

Russian dolls iPhone case for me, and a passport holder in cute owl motifs for Gina, who likes anything owl-ly!

Lastly, I bought this set of mad adorable washi tape.. New clothes for my gadgets! :D

I love all my buys! Hopefully all the gift recipients will love them too :D

We grown-ups had a ball of a time too, lol. I guess we never really grow up, after all :P
