Review: Shu Uemura Petal Skin Fluid Foundation

The modest-looking Shu Uemura Petal Skin Fluid Foundation got me sold immediately the first time I tried it. For my normal/dry skin, liquid foundations work best, and I love my foundations natural, radiant and light-weight. Shu Uemura's Petal Skin Fluid Foundation checks all those boxes and more!

Ok, I admit it. 

I was already sold the moment I saw my idol Pony (a Korean makeup blogger turned celebrity) use the Petal Skin Fluid Foundation in one of her makeup tutorials HAHAHA! The foundation looked absolutely flawless on her, and I couldn't wait to try it out on myself!

Why is Pony so perfect?? You need to watch this video to see what I mean. This is what I call an effortless-looking natural finish!

Shu Uemura Petal Skin Fluid Foundation (SPF 20 PA++)

Texture-wise, Shu Uemura Petal Skin Fluid Foundation is amazing. It's extremely light-weight, and spreads easily, with no cakiness or settling into lines. It also feels moisturizing and comfortable, almost like wearing nothing on your skin at all!

The hairs on this brush are so incredibly soft and luxurious! Its unique ergonomic shape also allows for both precise and even application on your entire face, even around the eyes and nose.

Using the Shu Uemura Petal 55 Brush is really easy, just use long sweeping strokes in the directions indicated by the arrows in this picture. It's quite intuitive, really.

This brush can also be used for any foundation texture, regardless of whether it's liquid, cream or powder. I love how the brush feels so gentle on my skin, and it does such a good job with application of the Petal Skin Fluid Foundation.

Before/After: My overall skin tone has been evened out and redness around the nose, as well as my dark eye rings, are a lot less pronounced. One pump for my entire face gives me a natural-looking medium coverage.

The breakthrough petal skin technology also diffuses light from skin to give the appearance of a soft, poreless finish! It looks almost like my skin got magically airbrushed to become petal soft and radiant.

I'm in love with the semi-matte, velvety and poreless finish that feels and looks like second skin! The lightweight finish is perfect for everyday usage.

As I have normal/dry skin, I find that the Shu Uemura Petal Skin Fluid Foundation looks great on its own, but I recommend setting it with loose powder if you tend towards combination/oily skin. 

Shu Uemura Petal Skin Fluid Foundation has also been tested in Singapore weather to ensure that it's humidity and heat resistant, and I was impressed with how the foundation held up throughout the day with no oxidation or "sliding off"! 

Finshing off my everyday to-go look with a light touch - A bit of concealer around my eyes, eyebrow pencil, subtle eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush and lip color!

VDL: Two new awesome products!

Hello ladies!

I've been trying out more new products from VDL recently, and I want to share more about two super interesting VDL products that I find really innovative and also very fun and effective to use!

If you've read my previous post: you'd have read about how easy it is to get flawless skin in three easy steps. I have to say that the VDL Lumilayer Primer especially is one product that I am super loving for giving me that radiant, dewy look!

VDL products are always so innovative, and I just got to test out two more new products from VDL that intrigued me a lot when I first got them.

I've been trying out these products, and I find them very functional and useful: I think you'll love using these products too!

The first product on my recommend-list is the new VDL SKIN P+R=O Wrinkle Care Roll-on Serum!

It feels really cooling and so comfortable around the eye area especially! I have got puffy eyes and poor blood circulation, and I find that VDL SKIN P+R=O Wrinkle Care Roll-on Serum helps a lot!

You can also use VDL SKIN P+R=O Wrinkle Care Roll-on Serum on your nasolabial area (laugh lines!) because this wrinkle care serum delivers anti-wrinkle ingredients (Medimin A™, and Oxytalan-SF™) deep into these areas prone to frequent facial movement! It helps to reduce the loss of natural Oxytalan Fibre (leading to elasticity loss) to maintain the firmness of your skin around your eyes and nasolabial area.

The serum is also so light-weight (it's just a colorless and liquidy texture) and feels like nothing on the skin, literally!

I also love that I don't have to use my fingers at all for application, because it's just very convenient like that. Love this innovative product!

The second product I want to share with you is the VDL Beauty Metal Cushion Foundation (New 2015 Design): It's the first cushion foundation that VDL has ever released!

Well, I'm a huge huge fan of cushion compacts because they are so uber convenient and easy to use, especially on-the-go! Love the new design of VDL Beauty Metal Cushion Foundation with a silver outer casing, it looks so fashionable and sleek!

Designed with a LG patented Metal Plate™ Technology, the metal plate found in this cushion foundation keeps the low-viscosity foundation cool and maintains the moisture level of the foundation while providing mild anti-bacterial benefits by reducing contact point between the application sponge and the foundation formula. 

You just need to use the cushion sponge to press on the metal plate to "release" the product, which will then appear on the metal plate so that you can pick up the product with the cushion sponge!

I find that most of VDL's products are all very light-weight and comfortable on the skin, which is something I look for in all my beauty products. The VDL Beauty Metal Cushion Foundation blends very well on the skin for a flawless finish that's radiant and natural!

Blended into my skin: It disappears into my skin but provides medium coverage and a slight matte but radiant finish for a long-lasting effect!

Besides delivering its foundation functionalities, this cushion foundation also contains moisturizing Prune Water that is extremely high in Anti-oxidants to protect the skin from damages caused by free radicals while moisturizing the delicate skin and keeping the foundation much more longer-lasting. 

Application is so easy: Just press the metal plate with the cushion sponge and pat the foundation onto your skin lightly and gently!

Estee Lauder Futurist Aqua Brilliance: My secret to radiant glowy skin!

When I'm in need of a foundation that can offer me long-lasting coverage and yet still look natural and glowy, Estee Lauder Futurist Aqua Brilliance is my latest to-go!

I first experienced Estee Lauder Futurist Aqua Brilliance during a Her World shoot some time last month with my friends Jess and Juli, and I was amazed!
