because i want to be a hardworking blogger, i decided to blog before all you readers start leaving me because this blog is so boring ;_; so today i'm gonna about something that some girls might be interested to read about.

i am going to blog about MY OFFICE! :D

technically, this office is shared between The Velvet Dolls, and Megagamie, teehee. time flies, and it's been about 6 months since we moved into this space! previously, we were cramped together with Little Red Heels in an even smaller space.. so it's a good thing we moved out! our first office was so small, when the stocks started coming in fast and furious for end of year, we practically had no space to navigate around the office. U_U

when TVD started, we were operating from home, and after awhile, my living room just started looking like a warehouse, and my daddy issued the edict that i had to get out of the house ;__; or he'd start to throw away my stocks! they were all stacked up in cardboard boxes and red plastic bags, and it was a huge mess. haha! i'm so glad we have our own little space to call the "office" now, and sometimes i find it hard to believe we actually have an actual office, and all that. #sentimental #emo 

anyways, i'll blog more next time about our journey over the past two years in detail, so today, i'm just going to bring you on a guided virtual tour of our little office, okay? :D BECAUSE. my hardworking elves and i spent an entire day cleaning up, packing and organizing the office and it is SO DAMN NEAT AND COSY NOW, it deserves some pictures and an entire blog post! :D

and i printed these on sticker paper and cut them out to stick on our front door.. it's so cute that looking at it makes me feel happy! ^__^ once you open the door to enter our office, the first thing you see is......

SUPER ALOT OF CLOTHES. 0_0 we have racks and racks of stocks and even more that haven't even been unbagged yet. you can imagine how messy it can potentially get :X but since we just packed them, this is already considered SUPER neat. teehee. 

our stocks, organized by the type/design! tops, bottoms, outerwear, dresses etc. the outside office is where all our stocks are, and we have another inner office where we work!

deng deng deng! if you look to the left of our inner office, it's the workspace area, plus my favorite place in the office: the sofa. hahahaha. there's where i usually hang out :D :D :D

and just to show you how messy this space is most of the time, it usually looks like THIS.

and no sofa is complete without plushies, we have a menagerie of animals! a duck, a cow, a bear, and a churpie bird! hehe. i keep on meaning to buy a quilt or blanket for napping purposes cos the sofa is so comfy.

moving on, here's the right side of the office! this is our makeshift studio (thus the studio lights!) as well as TVD's packing area where the hardworking elves will pack parcels for mailing. looks quite neat today with no parcels cos it's Friday!

our clothes rack, with some unreleased items on it :D usually, we'll prepare the new designs and hang it up on the racks ready for photoshoot!

and the shoe corner with the shoes we use for photoshoot. still have more shoes, but no space to put them up yet!

we also have a cabinet full of boxes full of accessories!

minion #2 hard at work replying customers' emails! yup, i stuck a doll logo on my laptop too :X so cute right!!! hehehe. the two minions work hard to pack/mail parcels everyday, as well as reply to emails!  ^__^ it's quite a tough job, because we have got hundreds of emails to clear all the time, especially just after every week's launch. and meanwhile, they have to ensure that all the customers orders are all packed efficiently and mailed out as fast as possible!! very stressful one! really thankful for two very responsible and hardworking minions. MUACKS!

ok, i must admit. not everything is as dandy neat as they seem.. haha! we have a store area behind our racks, which is where all the random bags of old stocks and other stuff go :X

LOL.... oops. out of sight, out of mind! we normally just pretend that this area doesn't exist :X

and that's our cosy little office for you!! ^_^

we're thinking of doing a warehouse sale at our office, but it's so tiny it's gonna be a challenge! or maybe we'll make it a mini tea party cum private warehouse sale instead. heheheh. anyone interested? :D

my own friends LOVE coming over to the office to shop. they'd all come and start digging through all the racks and bags and leave with bags full of new loot! :D 

my three musketeers came over one night for fun, and we bought Arnold's Fried Chicken (best fried chicken in Singapore!!!) and had a yummy fried chicken fest on the floor wheee! love you girls! :)

this is one of the upcoming items in next week's collection and i LOVE it to pieces! it's a swallow printed flare dress with the loveliest cut, and it has super nice lace-up back details!

i love the silky fabric, super comfy and the fit is mad nice!

lace-up back details, so hard to take a picture of! wore it with a nude colored bra and it's not very obvious! the lace-up details can be used to adjust the fit of the dress too! this dress has been selling like hotcakes at Kissjane :D also comes in Cream color with black swallow prints.

wore it with my crochet shrug from Forever New! luuuurve it!

hope you thought that this little post on TVD was interesting! :D TVD is actually a huge part of my life, hehe. i just usually don't blog about TVD's day-to-day operations that much cos usually we are tooooo busy working to be so bo liao to take photos. (and also cos the office was tooooo messy previously, 见不得光) but i thought it'd be nice to show a little peek of our office and share a little! :D

alrighty, it's Friday night so i hope everyone's out for dates/gatherings/lots of fun fun fun! lots of pretty and nice clothes just arrived today, very exciting. one of my favorite parts of the job is when the stocks arrive and they are soooo pretty! makes me happy!!!

TVD X MGG Office Dinner! :D

ok, i think i've changed and modified and tweaked my blog design about 20 times over the past 3 days, haha! so this should be the ore or less finalized layout! ^_^ i will still be adding more stuff in, like a link to popular posts, and past events/reviews! :D hope it will help assist the reader in easier navigation and to enjoy your read on this blog :)))

so today, i just wanted to share another outfit, and long overdue photos from office dinner during the CNY period! that's like... 2 months ago. my hair looks different. haha! and i THINK i was chubbier from all the CNY eating! bleh.

let's start with an outfit photo!

for days when you feel floaty and whimsical, i wanted to wear something casual but still looks interesting!

channeling some strange bohemian geek vibe with the fishtail plait, faux spectacles, boho looking necklace and the awesome upcoming printed Geometric Kimono Shrug from Thevelvetdolls! oooh. super awesome combi especially with the red shorts and burgundy Cambridge Satchel, sorry, i think i warned you that you'd probably get sick of seeing my satchels before long. haha!

i gotta admit though, i've been carrying the Burgundy Satchel out more than the Yellow! :D it's just such a unique color that pairing it with just about any outfit seems to work. glad i decided to keep it cos it's a limited edition color and i think it's already out of stock! :X

 

i really like the whole color palette for this outfit. it's like neutral with dashes of red tones here and there!

the necklace was bought from Diva a long time ago!

and now for the overdue photos from office dinner.. haha! everyone's gonna kill me, i'm always SO slow in uploading photos :X we had a combined TVD and MGG dinner together at one of my favorite steamboat restaurants that serves authentic Teochew style steamboat!

the soup base is so delicious because it's stewed with like 1000342 ingredients. and they have got a huge variety of stuff that you can order from the menu, and everything is really fresh and good!

here's Team TVD! :D :D :D Farah, Gina, my pixies Xuan and Trish (one pixie Shirl absent!), plus our dear model Cherri! :D notice how everyone is wearing TVD clothes (because i forced them to) TEEHEE.

and Team MGG! :D Cath, Vera, Vera's lil sis, their previous model, who's Vera's close friend and their minion, Carmen! (one minion Shimin absent too, haha!)

and just some of the food we ordered... slurps. the prawn dumplings and fish dumplings are mad nice! they also have this sotong paste that you have to scoop into little balls to throw into the soup. super fresh fish slices, and other stuff like veggies, bean curd skin etc.

special mention to this deep fried pork floss eggplant dish!!! it is LIFE-CHANGING. i never fancied eggplant, but this is soooo damn good, i think i can possibly clean off half the plate by myself :D it's so crispy and tasty and just melts in the mouth! 

 

my other favorite dish: fish kway tiao!!! they're noodles made from fish! :D you know, kind of like the same texture as the fish dumpling skin, but in noodle form. SUPER NICE. i love ittttt!!!!!

we were all happily tucking into all the food! Team TVD wins Team MGG when it comes to eating. no fight at all. hahahahaha :X all the MGG girls eat damn little! explains their size.

it's been 2 years since TVD started, and i think we've come a long way! Series 100 was an amazing milestone for us, and we had a wonderful wonderful collection!

this is from TVD Series 1. HAHAHA. HELLO POND, HELLO JY AND ME.

i must reiterate about how glad i am not the model for TVD anymore. it feels so good to have pretty models, really. 

Series 23: which showcased our first exclusively manufactured dress that had our label on it.. i remember i was SO mad excited about it!!!! also upgraded to studio shots already by then, which i really hated. that's Shalyn, who modeled for us for quite a few collections back then! :D

then we introduced another fresh face to TVD.. Clara, who stayed with us for many collections, until she started work! :( I miss you, Clara! She made all the apparels look so gorgeous on her with her gorgeous smile and perfect features!

the first ever mass meet-up we did for Christmas 2010, together with TTR and MGG! :D it was so much fun to meet all the customers!! I remember we got chased away by the security guards in the end because we looked so suspicious with bags of things and girls lining up in front of us! 

Sha also joined us some time in December 2010, and i love how she rocked all the TVD apparels and made them look so edgy and chic! ahhhh. i miss Sha too! she's currently working now as well, which is why you haven't seen her for some time! :(

in April 2011,

we officially moved into our own office space, which we shared with MGG and LRH! :D 

started to feel like a 大人, we had to settle the renovations, furnishings, utilities, internet... all those rubbish i don't know anything about. thank god for the other 老板娘s who made everything work!!! to have an office space to call our own was really something very gratifying. even if it was a small, crowded and smelly space!

and then shortly after, came Cherri with her sunshine smile! gosh, this was the first shoot she did with us, and she looked so different back then. hahaha! i made her cut bangs, cos i think she looks SO much cuter in them! :P

our first full outdoor shoot, for the Cupcake Romper that sold so well! together with Woon and Susu our part-time photographer, who also made so many beautiful images for TVD!

another big thing for TVD was getting a retail space at Kissjane Citylink.. our rack is right smack in the middle of the shop, and getting to see the TVD logo on a physical signage as well as our own exclusively manufactured apparel hanging on a rack in a shop as well as seeing how well-received our apparel were by retail customers also made a major milestone for TVD... :') so so blessed :)

and just this year, we've moved into another bigger office space, together with MGG.. we've tried to make it bigger and better, and even got our own little cozy sofa for the office... teehee (old office didn't have enough space to have one!)

we've hit over 5000 likes on our Facebook Fanpage as well as celebrated our 100th collection last week! 

also had a new face to grace TVD's photos too.. Apple! :D another gorgeous girl who is lovely to work with too!

so yes. extremely extremely blessed for all of our small accomplishments and milestones that have brought us to where we are today, and we have so many people to thank for it! thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you. don't want to be long-winded, hahaha. but we are surrounded by too many awesome people!!!!

here's to another 100 collections, and may we continue to strive towards becoming better and better! TVD HUAT AH!!!!!!!
