I Still Believe

I'm editing pictures in the middle of the night and listening to mandopop songs as I edit away, and I suddenly remembered this extremely old video that YZ and I recorded almost 2 years ago on one of those "Let's do a duet video!" kind of whim.. It's so long ago I think we both look completely different now: this was before I even got my braces done! D: 

Look at those long permed locks and my weird awkward smile (still weird now but marginally better with my braces done and removed :D) YZ has got amazingly long sideburns that Evonne commented look like helmet straps bwahaha. 

I never put it up (I forgot why, but I suspect it's because we both look very stupid, I thought and it didn't sound that good. HAHAHAHA) I always have the funniest expressions when I sing :(

But well, since it's sitting around doing nothing in my hard drive, here it is! :) Hehehe. It's not perfect or very good by any means, but please don't judge me here :X Enjoyyyy! I hope.

YZ just turned the big 30 yesterday, and we went out for a nice movie date: Despicable Me 2! As well as a sumptuous dinner feast with his family! ^.^ Nothing very fancy, but most importantly, we spent some precious quality time together :) Gonna put up the pictures soon once I've sorted through them and edited them.

Happy Birthday to you my dearest, and this year, I wish you happiness, fulfillment, lots of love (from me), and 永遠賺多多錢!  May this turn of decade bring you maturity on a new level and yet keep your spirit youthful and soul young. And may you always look like your babyface 26 years old look!! (Cannot be 25 cos then you look younger than me)

K歌2击队 semi finals

as i mentioned,

the semi finals of K歌2击队 Power Duet was held last Wednesday, at Mediacorp!

we spent the entire Tuesday rehearsing and doing sound checks and run throughs to prepare for the long recording session on Wednesday because all 8 teams were to compete together in 2 rounds, which meant 2 episodes of recording back to back. it was really tiring! :(

so.. YES we got through to the finalssssss!!!! :D :D :D :D

but to be honest, it was our shittest performance yet :((( due to a combination of nerves and stress i guess, i don't anticipate those 2 episodes airing cos we weren't at our best at all. but we didnt make any major mistakes and managed to get through to the finals which is really exciting! hope we'll be able to pick ourselves up from the poor performance and do better for the finals. it'll be held in 2 weeks time, on the 2nd April, and we'll need all the supporters we can get!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

a couple of blog readers were really sweet and came down to watch us for the quarter finals and semi finals too, thank you so much for being so supportive!! ^____^ from the bottom of my heart, i really appreciate it!! please introduce yourselves to me next time okay because i had no idea who you were! :(

time to 加油 for the last and final round, and it'll all be over!!! four teams will compete for the 2 top spots in round 1 & 2, while the remaining 2 teams will fight for 1st place in the last round. no regrets regardless win/lose. thank you everyone for all the support and well wishes thus far! it's really been an unforgettable experience haha. we're so blessed to have so many supportive family and friends around us! :)))))

i must say that this competition thingy has been consuming alot of my time and energy though :( i feel so bad that i've been slacking off TVD! haiiii. must buck up. we've actually got a new helper now (who also happens to be my good friend) so she's a great help. wouldn't be able to get through all the daily ops without her! and thank goodness for very accommodating and lovely customers as well.

oh oh oh and the first episode of K歌2击队 with us in it will be broadcasted on Channel 8 this coming Tuesday, 22 March at 8PM! remember to watch K歌2击队!!!! i won't even get to watch it myself. who wants to record it for me???

oh apparently the show isn't on xinmsn due to copyright issues or something, but someone uploaded an episode on youtube! no idea if the episode with us will be uploaded not :( but you can watch the 第一初赛 episode below! haha.

想YY has successfully moved on to the next round of the competiton!!!

and credits definitely go to all our hardworking friends and supports who waited a good one and a half hours for the recording to start, and some even stayed all the way to the end, til past 1am! T__T super super 感动. i love you all so so so much for coming!

we started doing sound checks the day before, and reported at MDC at 1pm for dry run and rehearsal on the day of the recording itself,

they were recording two episodes on the same day so we only started recording our episode close to 9 (reporting time for audience was 7.30!!!!) and our poor friends waited so patiently for us! :((( 辛苦你们了! poor Karen & Joseph waited for 1.5h and had to leave before the show started :( so sorry to make you two come down all the way and wait for nothing!! :(((

special mentions go to my dearest Nicolle & Fish for their heartfelt efforts in making posters/banners for us! AWWWW! i am really very overwhelmed with gratitude and love for you all. also thank you Chongchen for being the ticketing chief and helping us to pass the tickets to all our friends/family who came down to support! Min & Collin brought down their camera and helped most of the following pictures so thank you so much you two! :) the pictures are so fab!

also the judges offered us many kind encouragement, advice and pointers. seriously 辛苦了they had to record 2 episodes back to back and sit there judging and giving comments for about 6 hours straight! 谢谢老师们!

anyway, YZ was so nervous his knees were shaking on stage lor! HAHAHA. fortunately we didnt commit any major blunders and mistakes. it's really quite nerve wracking because of the format of the show. shan't go into too much detail, watch the show to find out more!

K歌2击队 (Power Duet) is the name of the programme,
it will start airing on Channel 8 on the 1st of March, Tues 8PM.

the episode we recorded is episode #4, which will be aired on the 22nd March so remember to catch it if you're at home! i'll be having choir rehearsal though ;( anyone knows how to record down the programme? hope i dont look too fat on TV! ;(
