Beauty Talk: Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence with BB SPF50 PA+++

When it comes to lazy or rushed mornings, slapping on my essential skincare and makeup routine can turn into a huge chore! Besides the lack of time in mornings, I also dislike piling on too many products on my face as it makes my skin feel uncomfortable and sticky especially after a long day out.

The new Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence with BB SPF50 PA+++ not just protects with SPF50 PA+++ (I highly recommend sun protection of at least SPF50 PA+++ because of Singapore's crazy sun), but is able to provide a natural coverage for your skin which also doubles up as a brightening makeup base!

With its high SPF50 protection, I no longer need to apply a separate sunscreen before my BB cream anymore :D Less layers means less time and effort spent in the morning!

In addition, it also contains ingredients to help with oil control and hydration, which are the main concerns that many girls are worried about.

After trying the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence with BB SPF50 PA+++, I have to say that I really like it!

Event/Review: Ettusais BB Mineral White (BB Cream)

i've found my new favourite BB cream: and it's the Ettusais BB Mineral White SPF 45 PA++! 

Evonne and i attended a small and cosy gathering that was organised by Ettusais, at Société Canteen, a small little cafe at Cluny Court. it's located just a short walk away from Botanic Gardens, love the location cos it took me barely half an hour to get home via the Circle Line! ;D

i love the giant Ettusais duck mascot, it's just adorable! the Ettusais team had it specially brought over to the cafe for the event, as well as putting in lots of effort to do up the interior of the cafe with a special Ettusais tableful of products, fresh flowers and pink table cloths.

we had the opportunity to have Mayumi Iwasaki-san, one of their beauty specialists, all the way from Japan, to conduct a demo session for us! Mayumi-san showed us how to do a natural, simple makeup with Ettusais BB Mineral White, and to also show us the difference from BB Mineral White (the new BB cream formula) versus BB Mineral Cream (the previous BB cream formula)

on our left is the model's face with BB Mineral White, while on our right is the model's face done up with BB Mineral Cream! if you can't tell, BB Mineral White has got a more radiant finish to it that's slightly pink toned, it also has a brightening effect that the BB Mineral Cream doesn't have!

it's actually my first encounter with Ettusais products, and i never knew they had this really handy blush that comes with a mini puff, Mayumi-san taught us how to use the blusher together with its puff, and i was sold!

definitely getting this the next time i pop by an Ettusais counter!

i was very pleasantly surprised with the BB Mineral White: i've stopped using BB creams for quite some time because of concerns about clogged pores, and also, BB creams seem to be a hit and miss thing with me sometimes. certain BB creams are too thick, while other BB creams end up making my complexion look grey-ish and dull. it's so hard to find a BB cream i like, and i can now happily say that i've found my favourite BB cream of the moment, with Ettusais BB Mineral White!

UV Protection - SPF of 45 PA++ helps to protect the skin from UV rays (very important for me!)

i've been using the BB Mineral White together with these other two products from Ettusais: the Skin Version Up Extra (skin softener) and White Shooter Dual Effect (light-weight moisturizer)! these two products will prep and moisturize your skin so that the BB cream goes on and stays on better.

and an unedited before/after shot: makeup-less face leh! bahhh.

as you can see, i have redness on my cheeks and around my nose and chin, as well as dark circles and pigmentation. with a small pearl-sized application of the BB Mineral White, my complexion is much more even, and brighter! i also like the matte finish, so you don't even need to finish off with loose powder should you choose not to. the BB Mineral White comes in 3 shades, and shade 03 suits me very well.

all in all, i'm really glad to have been introduced to Ettusais BB Mineral White! i've been reaching for it so often whenever i step out of the house, and i think i may have to re-purchase it once my tube of BB cream finishes!

FOTD: UD Naked Palette + Clio and Peripera!

dolled up a little today, so i thought i'd share some of the products i used for my Face of the Day! :D

 

it's a pretty neutral look, just emphasizing a lot on the eyes! oh, i tried to do a semi-centre parting too, but it's kinda messy :/ going back to Salon Vim with Eils baybeh on Monday, can't decide if i should grow out my fringe or do bangs again! probably bangs, cos i wanna look younger for CNY... HEHE. 

 

all the products i used today!

 

starting with my holy grail BB cream: Biotherm's White D-Tox! i love the light weight texture and the instant brightening effect :) comes with SPF 25+PA+++ and 24 hour hydration!

 

usually go over it with K-Palette's Oil Control 0 Teka Mat Powder, which is a pressed powder that has light coverage and oil control properties that helps to mattify! it's a daily essential for me, use until i hit pan on it already D:

 

followed by my favorite cream concealer, BeautyTech ice cream concealer :D use it on my under eyes to conceal my dark eye rings as well as around the nose and on blemishes! the Make Up Store's "Must Have" powder blush is great for a natural sun kissed look.

 

bought Urban Decay's Naked Palette while i was in KL, and i'm super loving it! all the shades are so useable and i've been using it really regularly. today, i used the following shades Virgin, Smog and Darkhorse :D

 

like i said, the emphasis are on the eyes today, so here's all the many different eye products i used! :D from top to bottom: Lancôme Virtuose Drama, K-Palette Lasting 2-Way Eyebrow Liner, K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner Waterproof, Clio Eye Love You Shadow Pencil in Violet, and Peripera Flash Color Eyes Crayon Liner in Pearl White!

most of these products are regulars in my makeup pouch, except for the following two new products from Clio and Peripera! These two brands have kindly sponsored me some of their best selling products and i'll be reviewing more of them in future entries!

 

Peripera Flash Color Eyes Crayon Liner in Pearl White. This is a shimmery crayon that glides on smoothly, i use it to highlight the inner eye corners! this product retails at $11.90!

Clio Eye Love You Shadow Pencil in Violet. used this to line my lower eyeliner on the outer corners to add abit of color and to make my eyes look bigger! :) the staying power is pretty good and i like the brilliant shade of violet with a slight shimmer in it. this product retails at $16.90!

 

close up. i also put on FreshLook monthly contacts in Brown :D Lancome Virtuose Drama mascara was used on both my upper and lower eyelashes! love the lengthening effect and that it isn't clumpy as well. you can see the crayon liner in pearl white on my inner eye corners as well.

anyway, today's the 2nd day after finishing my detox, and happy to say my weight's still pretty much the same! weighed 52.9KG this morning, which is quite comforting cos i kind of pigged out on dinner yesterday! :D need to tell myself to get a grip though cos i'm still watching my calories :/ 9 more days to CNY, very excited to dress up nice nice and celebrate the festivities with my family!

Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream: Look of the Day!

 

i've been using BB cream since years ago, ever since i first discovered this super long and informative thread on cozycot forums with many girls raving about how fantastic BB cream is, and since then i've been hooked onto BB creams! 

i love it that they're not as heavy as liquid foundations, but provide adequate coverage without looking like i've got a shitload of makeup on. of course, having skincare properties (which is what BB cream is all about!) definitely help as well, and i was delighted to receive Skin79's latest BB cream: Lovely Girl!

i don't think i need to introduce Skin79, it's one of the leading brands of BB cream in the world, and i remember back in those days when BB cream was not widely available in Singapore, we could only get them through online sprees only, and they were so damn expensive!!!! thankfully, BB creams have now invaded our local markets already and it's easy to find them in stores like Watsons, Sasa etc.

so i thought i'd do a simple step-by-step pictorial post of my look of the day.. the emphasis is on natural but flawless looking skin, with the eyes being the main focus :) i think it's a look suitable for day events or dates :) you know, when you don't want to look too glamorous with smokey eyes and whatnot but you still wanna look chio and made-up!

it's just a general walkthrough and not very detailed so if you have any more specific questions you can leave a comment or ask a question on formspring and i'll try to help! :)

ps. the BB cream only comes in one shade! when i apply it on my face, it looks slighter fairer than my skin tone, but blends right in after a while :) it has a nice fragrance to it too! hehe.

i've only just started experimenting with contouring more, lately, so i bought Canmake's contouring powder for the face and brow as it's cheaper! :P any white eyeshadow will be good to use as a highlighting powder. i just try to define my nose a little by shading the sides of the nose, and using white to highlight the tip! and of course try to give myself a smaller jaw line and cheekbones using the face contouring powder. more on that next time, when i'm better at it :S

i super looooove the eyes. SO (FAKE BUT) NATURAL LOOKING. kind of.
leave your lips bare with just a layer of lip balm for that natural look.

add on geeky specs for that i'm nerdy but cute look. LOL.

anyway, i didn't elaborate so much about some of the other products i used, but cos i generally use my favorite few products, they're pretty much what i'm using in this entry here!

oh yes, please remember to cleanse thoroughly after using BB cream! i've read about girls getting clogged pores and breakouts from using BB cream, so even though it has skincare properties, it's best to cleanse your face thoroughly to make sure that no traces of BB cream and makeup remain cos it's really bad for your skin!!!

moving on... can i just introduce you to 我爱台妹 cos i swear it's the best crispy chicken cutlet you will ever have in singapore. it is super OMFG soft, tender and tasty!!! YZ & i are so hooked onto it which is sooo soooo soooo unhealthy and bad.

but we're not the only ones?! the queue is always mad long! this is the outlet behind bugis street by the way!

i recommend number 2, extra crispy chicken!!! together with seaweed fries or sweet potato. ZOMG. to die for. and then add the caramel grass jelly pearl milk tea. calories overload.

looks very deceivingly normal but it is THE BEST crispy chicken cutlet, man.

we tried the yakult green tea... i think it's nice but YZ says like cough syrup like that. bwahaha.

we had 2 sets of crispy chicken cutlet + side order + drink. cos we only ordered one set initially, but it was so damn good we couldn't resist ordering a second set after demolishing the first. fattening like nobody's business.

which is probably why i was spurred on to start jogging again lately, i am so aching all over cos i've been exercising consecutively for four days!!! D: D: D:

sunday = jog, monday = pilates, tues = jog, wednesday = pilates.

gonna take a break and go jogging again on friday. the plan is to try to attend pilates 1-2 times a week, and jog x 3 a week. though knowing me, you know my attempts to exercise regularly and eat healthily never last longer than 7 days. HAHAHA ): i need to lose a couple kilos to get to my regular, healthy weight!

geez. come on everybody let's stay healthy and lose weight and keep fit together!!!!!!!
